Wind flow
Even though wind conditions in Krkonoše are in general complex and highly variable due to the striking segmentation of the mountains, in fact north-west or west to south-west winds prevail, with the wind flow during the year being the strongest in winter and weakest in summer. The windiest sites are the plateaus surrounding the chalets called Labská bouda and Luční bouda as well atop Sněžka, where winds classified as windstorms to hurricanes are no exception, their speeds exceeding even 150 km/h.
