Alpine (upper) tree line
Presenting an important boundary in the mountainous landscape, this separates the montane zone and the low alpine zone from each other. This zone traverses the altitudinal range of 1,200 to 1,350 m, which was significantly changed in many places by humans establishing treeless mountain enclaves.
